Chainsaws
Chainsaw operation falls under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1992 (revised 1998) which state that chainsaw operators should have
received adequate training in safe use. Anyone working on or in trees is expected to hold a recognised certificate of competence or national competence award. The only exception is on agricultural holdings where the
work is done as part of agricultural operations and the operator has used a chainsaw before 5 December 1998.
